CATO HOWE: Revolutionary Service Record

Howe enlisted in the spring of 1775 and served for the entire war in the 2nd Massachusetts (Commander, Colonel John Bailey).  The regiment fought at Bunker Hill (June 1775) and served in the New York campaign (1776), the Battle of Trenton (December 1776), Battle of Princeton (January 1777), Battle of Saratoga (September-October 1777) and the Battle of Monmouth (June 1778).  Between December 1777 and the late spring of 1778, Cato Howe was at Valley Forge.  The 2nd Massachusetts, from 1779 on, was part of the “Highland’s Department”, serving along the Hudson River around West Point.

Howe served through 1780, and, possibly longer.
